Teachers’ In Service Course (DES approved, in person) 2024

‘Cultivating the Next Generation of Conservationists’. This course aims to provide participants with active engagement in teaching and learning about Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) with an emphasis on conservation education. It provides participants with the skills, knowledge and confidence to teach about nature and conservation in their classrooms. The course will assist teachers in fostering positive connections to nature in their classrooms and motivating their students towards pro-environmental actions. Topics will be delivered by expert facilitators in our Discovery and Learning Centre and from our immersive living classroom, the grounds of Dublin Zoo. Teachers participating will have exclusive access to our state-of-the-art teaching spaces as well as the opportunity to explore the zoo after the daily programme.
Note: this course is aimed at those who teach 3rd – 6th class.
Successful completion of the course entitles the participant to three EPV days.
