Summer Course
Cultivating the Next Generation of Conservationists
The course aims to provide participants with active engagement in teaching and learning about Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) with an emphasis on conservation education. It provides participants with the skills, knowledge and confidence to teach about nature and conservation in their classrooms. The course assists teachers in fostering positive connections to nature in their classrooms and motivating their students towards pro-environmental actions.
Topics are delivered by expert facilitators in our Discovery and Learning Centre and from our immersive living classroom, the grounds of Dublin Zoo. Teachers participating have exclusive access to our state-of-the-art teaching spaces as well as the opportunity to explore the zoo after the daily programme.
With support from the Department of Education’s Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) to 2030 initiative, we are pleased to offer a once-off 50% discount on this course. This funding helps expand access to the programme and support teachers engaging with sustainability education. Places are limited, so early booking is recommended.
Note: this course is aimed at those who teach 3rd – 6th class but all teachers are welcome.
