I have a child or visitor with sensory processing disorder or autism, is it a suitable event to visit and is there a specific night for them?

We are not running a specific night for people sensory processing disorder or autism, however, we have found that in terms of crowds, Thursday nights in November and Mondays and Tuesdays in early December are the quietest nights. We also would recommend arriving from 6pm onwards as the queue has usually diminished by then (rather than at 5pm when it is busiest) and it still allows ample time to see the event.

In terms of noise, there is some gentle music playing in the background of some areas. There is some louder music at the performance area but this is a stage that is situated away from the main thoroughfare and easily avoidable.

Dublin Zoo has an ongoing commitment with Autism-focused charities to make sure all staff are trained in communicating with children and families with Autism.
