Annual Passes

We are extremely grateful to our annual pass holders for their patience and support as we, like many others, have navigated challenges on a scale never experienced before during the Covid-19 crisis.

In accordance with Government travel guidelines, all passholders who live further than 5km from Dublin Zoo, but are within 20km of Dublin Zoo will now have their passes extended by 1 month from 8th June.

Pass holders who live further than 20km from Dublin Zoo will have their pass extended by one month once they are free to travel to Dublin Zoo in accordance with government guidelines.

This extension will be automatically added to your pass. You will not need to contact Dublin Zoo to activate it.

This is in addition to the 25% discount that all current Annual Pass Holders will receive upon renewing their Annual Pass.

To purchase or renew your pass please do so over the phone.

FAQs

  • Can I suspend my free month until later in the year or do I have to use it one month from when I am free to travel to Dublin Zoo in accordance with government guidelines

The additional month will be added on to your pass from the date you are free to travel to Dublin Zoo in accordance with government guidelines.

The challenging situation Covid-19 has created means we are unable to provide flexibility on the extended month. A 25% discount (an additional 3 months) will be applied when you renew your annual pass.

  • What if I cannot book a time slot within the month?

Once reopened, a daily allocation of tickets will be reserved for annual pass holders. These tickets will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. We advise booking early.

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide flexibility on the extended month. The additional month will begin from the date you are free to travel to Dublin Zoo in accordance with government guidelines, and it will not be possible for it to be added at a later stage. To mitigate this, a 25% discount (an additional 3 months) will be applied when you renew your annual pass for Dublin Zoo.

  • Are there any restrictions on my annual pass during this one-month extension, in terms of the number of people I can bring?

No, the terms and conditions of your annual pass remain as they were.

  • I was not planning on renewing my pass this year, can I get a further extension to my pass instead of a discount?

Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer a further extension. The 25% discount (additional 3 months) is only applicable to annual passes that are renewed. We have extended their passes for a month, beginning from the date you are free to travel to Dublin Zoo in accordance with government guidelines, and are offering a 25% discount (3 months free) for those who renew their annual pass.

During this temporary closure, we have had no means of generating revenue and the ongoing costs of our animal care has been and continues to be substantial. We are operating in very challenging financial times, and a one-month extension on current annual passes, with a 3-month discount on next year’s, was the most viable option for Dublin Zoo.
