SSE Airtricity and Dublin Zoo are working together to make a positive difference to our planet. For Dublin Zoo and our visitors, this means inspiring a new generation to appreciate the natural world and make greener choices to protect it.

Ways We're Helping

  • The Eco Explorer Trail, supported by our sustainability ambassador Pookie, is a fun, interactive way to learn about our planet and ways to protect it. As parents and kids explore Dublin Zoo, they’ll discover 10 Eco Explorer stations which will explain sustainable choices and actions.
  • Water Refill Stations have been installed at a number of locations around the Zoo. All visitors to the Zoo are encouraged to use these stations to refill their water bottles. To date, our visitors have saved over 450,000 plastic bottles.
