A Brick-Built Launch Moment

To celebrate the launch of Animal Bricktacular, Dublin Zoo has unveiled a bespoke brick arch installation created by renowned Limerick brick artist Gary Kirwan.

Taking seven weeks to complete, the striking structure features 180,678 bricks wrapped around a timber support frame to create a unique arch designed as a tree climbing up a wall, filled with some of Dublin Zoo’s most beloved animals, including orangutans, gorillas, giraffes, rhinoceros, hippopotamus, penguins, flamingos and elephants. A one of a kind artwork, it’s a fantastic photo opportunity for children and adults alike!

Róisín Healy, Marketing Manager at Dublin Zoo, said: “Animal Bricktacular is a truly unique experience that combines creativity, imagination and wildlife discovery in a way that visitors of all ages can enjoy together. This summer, visitors can enjoy two experiences in one unforgettable day out – exploring both our incredible animal habitats and these spectacular brick sculptures throughout the Zoo.

“As a conservation charity, every visit helps us continue providing exceptional care for the animals at Dublin Zoo, while also supporting vital conservation work both in Ireland and around the world. We’re very excited to welcome visitors for what promises to be one of Dublin’s most memorable and unmissable family days out this summer.”

Animal Bricktacular opens at Dublin Zoo on June 13th and runs until the end of August.

Visitors are encouraged to book early and keep an eye on the Dublin Zoo website and social channels for ticket information, workshop announcements and exhibition updates.
