Get ready for a roaring week of educational entertainment as Zoo Live returns

Tune in on May 13th, 14th and 15th on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player at 7pm.

Following the success of its last live series in 2022, Zoo Live is back. Broadcasting over three nights from Dublin Zoo’s African Savanna, Zoo Live promises to transport viewers of all ages into the captivating and seldom-seen world of one of Ireland’s most cherished attractions.

From May 13th to May 15th, audiences will have the opportunity to witness the behind-the-scenes operations of Dublin Zoo.

Dublin Zoo partners directly with 30 conservation organisations worldwide, Zoo Live will shed light on some of these conservation efforts supported by Dublin Zoo both locally and globally. Led by presenter Anna Daly, Zoo Live will delve into current conservation projects spanning from Madagascar to Sierra Leone to Spain.

Also presenting, Maia Dunphy will serve as the roving reporter, offering viewers an exclusive glimpse into the dedicated care provided by Dublin Zoo’s animal care team.

From Sulawesi crested macaques to sea lions, giant tortoises to tigers, bongos to bison, and red pandas to pythons Zoo Live will showcase a range of different animals and their lives in both Dublin Zoo and Fota Wildlife Park.

The Zoo’s Discovery and Learning team will also engage with school children in interactive segments, including dinosaur bone digs in the Zoorassic World.

Adding some human star power to the mix, celebrity guests including Dancing with the Stars winners Jake Carter and Karen Byrne, and comedian Neil Delamere will step into the shoes of zookeepers for a day, learning just what it takes to take care of some of the world’s most endangered species.

Venturing outside the capital, Zoo Live will also take viewers to Fota Wildlife Park in Cork, where TikTok star and comedian Killian Sundermann will experience life as a zookeeper for a day, getting up close and personal with cheetahs and bison.

With three live programmes offering a peek into the fascinating world of Dublin Zoo, Zoo Live hopes to captivate audiences with its blend of entertainment, education, and conservation.
