During Positive Ageing Week (September 26th to October 3rd, 2025), visitors aged 65+ can enjoy free entry* to Dublin Zoo as we partner with Age Action to connect generations. Join us for special trails, family reflections, and stories that honour the experience, resilience, and wisdom of older generations.

To celebrate Positive Ageing Week 2025, Dublin Zoo is delighted to partner with Age Action to honour the experience, resilience, and wisdom of older generations.
Just as elephant herds depend on the memory and leadership of their matriarchs, our communities thrive thanks to the guidance and strength of older people. This year’s theme, Connecting Generations, highlights the important role older people play in linking families and communities together.
Positive Ageing Week at Dublin Zoo is about celebrating the incredible contributions of older generations, our volunteers, and the family bonds that make memories at Dublin Zoo so special.
Join us this Positive Ageing Week at Dublin Zoo to connect, explore, and celebrate wisdom across the generations.
What’s Happening
- Free Entry for Visitors 65+
From Friday, September 26 to Friday, October 3, 2025, visitors aged 65 and over will enjoy free admission* to Dublin Zoo. - Elephant Family Matters Trail
Explore the Kaziranga Forest Trail with a special self-guided route that combines fascinating elephant facts with reflections on family, memory, and wisdom. - #ConnectingGenerations Campaign
Share sayings, stories, or advice passed down from older relatives and friends – online or with your companions during your visit – and help us celebrate the voices that connect generations.
*Terms & Conditions: Offer available when accompanied by a paying child or adult ticket-holder. Valid for gate purchases only. Not valid with bundles, concessions, or in conjunction with any other offers.
