Kids Go Free* at Dublin Zoo 13th-27th September

Dublin Zoo is delighted to announce the arrival of three incredible new additions to Rainforest House – Freddy and Andrea the golden lion tamarins and Valentine the southern tamandua. To celebrate these new primate mates and their anteater amigo, Dublin Zoo is offering free admission for kids from the 13th to 27th September.  

Sixteen-year-old golden lion tamarin Freddy and fourteen-year-old Andrea both arrived from Loro Parque in Puerto de la Cruz, Spain, and are already settling in well to their new home in Rainforest House. Named for their beautiful red manes, golden lion tamarins are small, social primates. They are classified as endangered by the IUCN Red List, with an estimated 1,000 individuals left in the wild.  

Valentine, the one-year-old southern tamandua, came to Dublin Zoo from Zoo Olomouch, Czech Republic, and this amazing anteater can be found settling into his new home at Rainforest House, sharing with Tony the lowland paca and the Linné’s two-toed sloths. Although southern tamanduas are commonly known as lesser anteaters, our new addition, born on Valentines’ Day 2025, is nothing short of adorable.  

In celebration of these exciting new arrivals, Dublin Zoo is offering free admission to one child per full paying adult from the 13th to the 27th of September, making it the perfect opportunity for a wild adventure before winter sets in. As well as Freddy, Andrea, and Valentine, there are over 400 animals to discover across the Zoo. If you want to keep your little monkeys busy this September, the Kids Go Free offer is perfect for an after-school or weekend adventure. 

Visiting with two adults and two, three, or four children? The best value option for your group is to purchase a Family Day Ticket. Family Day Tickets are already discounted to offer great value, so the Kids Go Free promotion deducts the cost of one child admission per Family Day Ticket.

The Kids Go Free admission offer is available online only from 13th-27th September 2026, and allows one child free per full paying adult (excludes student, OAP, adult w/additional needs, and groups). Visitors are encouraged to book in advance using the code KIDSGOFREE.
