School Tour Workshops
Elevate your school tour with an engaging, curriculum-linked workshops!
Designed for infants to sixth class, these primary programmes are led by our Dublin Zoo educators and focus on wildlife and conservation in a fun, interactive way. Children can transform into Rainforest Rangers, African Adventurers, or Dinosaur Detectives during a thrilling session.
Exceptional Value: Enhance your class’s educational experience for just €1.00 extra per child, which includes a dedicated session and educational resources to enhance wildlife learning both before and after your visit.
Time Efficient: Workshops are concise (50 minutes to 1 hour), ensuring your class has plenty of time left to explore the rest of Dublin Zoo.

Self-guided visits
Designed for maximum flexibility and discovery, our self-guided visit option is perfect if you are not booking a structured workshop.
Bring your class to explore Dublin Zoo at your own pace, covering all the incredible habitats like the African Plains, the Kaziranga Trail, and the Himalayan Hills. Your students can also utilize our unique indoor facilities, including the Discovery Centre, the Nocturnal House, and Zoorassic World, for a highly engaging and personalised educational adventure.

No, we do not require pre-payment or a deposit. You are charged on the day of your visit based on the number of pupils who visit Dublin Zoo that day. It is your responsibility to update our gate staff with accurate numbers on arrival. Your school tour group will receive fast-track entry via our Groups Window, avoiding our main entrance queues.
The Dublin Zoo site is fully accessible. We have a number of accessible toilets throughout the Zoo. We also have a Changing Places toilet, located beside the Discovery Centre building in which there is a changing bed and hoist.
Our workshops can also be tailored to your group’s needs. Please let us know in advance any additional requirements you have for your class.
We have wheelchairs available to rent – please contact us ahead of time to pre-book. While there is no charge for the use of the wheelchair, there is a €20 deposit required on arrival.
Mobility scooters are available to rent during your visit to Dublin Zoo. The cost is €25 and they can be collected from the Visitor Operations desk at the main entrance of Dublin Zoo. Mobility scooters are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Mobility scooters can only be hired by persons 18 years or older.
Yes, we have picnic benches and grassy areas throughout Dublin Zoo. We do not have any indoor picnic areas.
