ZOOlympics at Dublin Zoo

Thursday, 02 August 2012

Dublin Zoo is celebrating Olympic mania with the ZOOlympics, which is taking place from now until Sunday, August 12.

Visitors will receive a ZOOlympics trail with lots of fun and interesting facts about different zoo animals, their athletic skills and abilities. In addition, visitors, young and old, will be able to take part in challenges like: “Can you stand on one leg for as long as a flamingo?” or “Can you roar as loud as a lion?”

Zoolympics Closing Ceremony (Saturday, August 11th & Sunday, August 12th)

On Saturday and Sunday, August 11th & 12th, Dublin Zoo will celebrate the end of the ZOOlympics with a finale event on the Great Lawn.

The weekend will be packed with ZOOlympic sports fun, games, music and facepainting.  The event will kick off at 12 noon with music, and the Zoolympics sessions will run from 12.30pm until 3.30pm. A very special guest, Bertie the Bear, will be on hand to judge the games!

Each child will be awarded an ‘I’m a Dublin Zoo Olympian’ sticker at the end of each session for taking part.
