Age: 112 million years old

Location: Brazil (Santana Formation)

Wingspan: about 4.5 metres

Diet: Fish

Covering: body furry, wings leathery

Anhanguera means ‘Old Devil’ in Spanish. It was a fish-eating pterosaur with a 4.5 metre wingspan and long jaws full of sharp, pointed-teeth. It flew over the oceans on its giant wings, scooping up fish. The crests on its jaws may have acted as stabilisers to steady its head.
