Teachers’ In Service Course (DES approved, in person) 2022

4th - 8th July - 5 days (20 hours) The course will run from 10 am – 2:45 pm each day Successful completion of the course entitles the participant to three EPV days This course aims to provide participants with active engagement in teaching and learning using Dublin Zoo as a living classroom. It provides participants with the skills, knowledge and tools to teach Social, Environmental and Science Education (SESE) in their primary schools. Once equipped with these skills our goal is that teachers enable the students to live as an informed and caring member of local and wider communities. Topics will be delivered by expert facilitators in our Discovery and Learning Centre and from our immersive living classroom, the grounds of Dublin Zoo. Teachers participating will have exclusive access to our state-of-the-art teaching spaces as well as the opportunity to explore the zoo after the daily programme.
