Teddy Bears' Picnic
23rd June 2009
On Sunday 21st June was the day the teddy bears had their picnic at Dublin Zoo, with children bringing their furry friends along for a world record attempt.
Every child who visited the Zoo got half price entry plus a free picnic, and was treated to a whole day of fun and entertainment. There were fairy tales about wolves and bears and special keeper talks about many of the zoo’s carnivores. The picnic raised money for the European Carnivore Campaign which aims to ensure the survival of carnivores in the wild.
Dublin Zoo may not have broken the 1995 world record for most teddies at a picnic this time around but a great day was had by everyone who attended regardless!
