Message from the Director

Dear friend,
Ireland’s smallest farm has been redeveloped and is now open for visitors. Friesian cow Bluebell will be milked in her own parlour each day. The best looking Tamworth pigs will be greeting you with a grunt and goats, sheep chickens and ducks all will be excited to see you! There are also small children’s play areas with model farm animals and a small farmer’s garden.
The ‘Family Farm’ as we named it was developed with the financial support of the Irish Farmer’s Association, Bord Bia, the IFAC accountants and FBD Insurance. Many aspects of Irish farming are explained as many urban youngsters have very little understanding of where their food comes from.
An exciting farmhouse classroom will be a venue for the many thousands of school children that visit Dublin Zoo each year.
Dublin Zoo encourages all city folk to visit the Family Farm this summer!
