These fast-moving lizards are widespread in Myanmar, Thailand, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, often living close to human habitation. Their tails are three times as long as their bodies. They change colour when threatened, from bright green to darker brown tones. Males develop a rich red colour on their throats during the breeding season.
